This book held my interest from start to finish and like the rest of reviewers, I was only saddened that it finished so soon. So, let me get into it. Leo is a reformed crackhead who stole a lot of drugs from the local neighborhood dealer LowBow. When Leo gets his hands on a red dollar, known and reputed to enforce evil on the possessor of it as told to him by his mother, Leo knew that LowBow would be wanting his and decided that when he comes again to make sure LowBow gets his in a manner of speaking. So, true to form, LowBow gives Leo the smackdown, and Leo gives LowBow unknowing to him, the red dollar. At the end of the "workday" LowBow goes to a hotel with his dollars, goes to sleep and doesn't wake up for two days to find out that his empire was raided, several people are killed and the rest are arrested, and all he worked for is GONE!! He then goes to the one person who can make heads or tails of this. His son Beady(Leo's nephew)who hips him to the happenings as well as the red dollar. Of course, he doesn't believe it, but as time goes on, he does and now he tries to find someone to give it, and he does find it when he go to a casino to a redneck racist white Texan who curses and villifies everyone he meets in his path. the minute the Texan walks outta the casino, he has a wreck, but being like "bad bad Leroy Brown" he proceeds. But LowBow is now off the hook and realizes the trouble he causes and tries to rectify it. Very good book. I truly hated to see it end when it did. I would ask for a sequel but that dollar is a hard enough thing.Product details

very fast read .if i ever come cross a red dollar i will get rid of it quick. karma type book with a twist.
This book really had me thinking about that "Red Dollar" and what it represents and just reading this book although some parts went a little to the left, but it had a good message and it was a great read.
The title grabbed my attention, immediately. The power that this red dollar holds is thought provoking. On the one hand, you can use the dollar for good or evil...the ultimate power is in the heart of the owner. I loved how the author captured the heart of this popular myth.
Good short story. It was interesting and it had a message. Money really is the root of all evil especially when you come in contact with the red dollar. I don't know if its real but I know I don't want to come across one!
This was a great read loved this book. When is book # 2 of this series coming out? It is a story of the comeuppance of a local drug dealer and all this red dollar puts him through. Low-Blow earned his name not because he is a nice person, but because of his devious ways. This book covers a drug dealers life and the people who he becomes involved with as a result of his getting that dollar. Racism and police raids and many other dramatic things happen in this good read. He uses so many people and even uses his son for help when the dollar starts its evil. I have read this authors other books and they are great also, Life Knows No BoundsOne Who Loves You More, and A Blessing And A Curse.
